Hello.
After a long time no posting, hereby some new pictures, did some work on her, remade all the air intake filters, and remade a part of the deck housings and a lot of other things, (did not take pictures of that), still need to do a lot, but below some pictures of the Emden how she is now.
But before i forgot, Fuzzy thanks a lot for the beautiful gift you send me !!!, (my mistake not to mention it before, was a little busy on my side !!) but again thanks a lot really appreciate it a lot, and i will absolutely place them on her, will keep it for the last !!.
Will do my best to finish her to become a nice "lady"
Now i have a question: how is it possible to bend or shape H or I profile to make the supports for the ammunition rails and supports for the sloops ??
perhaps somebody can help me out on that part, specially the 90 degrees parts
Will put some pictures the moment we have regular Internet again. due to lightning Wich destroyed the Internet cabinet in my neighbourhood we don't have internet in our house for the moment. (Only my cell phone works)
But it's indeed the supports used to connect the rails for the amunition.(as in the picture from Peter) Would like how to make them special the 90 degrees part.
Try ed to bend I or H profile from brass that did not work, also not after heating and soften the brass.
[blau] Hello Martin!
Your question regarding the bending of H- and I-profiles is still open. Since your profiles are made of brass you have to solve a problem indeed. Brass is available in various alloys. The harder the alloy, the sooner the material breaks when bending. The same applies to small radii.
I would first of all make sure that I use relatively soft brass. Then I would make a tool for this task, similar to a pipe bending device. However, the entire device would have to be positioned between two metal plates. This prevents the material to be bent from being crippled sidewards.
Beside that, you could cut (etch) the necessary three pieces for a H- or I-profil out of sheet metal and solder them together. If these methods are not successful I would use aluminum or plastic profiles.
I wish you continued success and joy with your lady.

after some thinking and trying, i cam to the following solution for my "problem"
I took a H profile and removed a small part on side of the profile, where i want to bend it, then i heated the material (dark red) after cooling down,
I bended the profile with a round-nose pliers, soldered a small part of brass on the profile again, after some sanding, ready !!
Looks to me better than the plastic ones.
still need to do a lot of them, but just for the impression

Small update,
First off all meine herrschaften thanks for the kind words !!
After some fighting with my brass profiles, i managed to shape them as i prefer,
It was not a easy job, but i think they came out fine.
at least much better as the resin profiles that came with it.
below some pictures of the steps that i followed to make them,
still need to paint them, but it just gives a impression how they look.
Gangway is done, only some paint.
so i come now to a question, need to build the supports for the sloops, the one that came with the kit i absolutely do not like them so they are going to be part of my resin scrap collection[weinen], so i will need to rebuild them, but how did they really look, i do not have pictures of them, so how should they look ??
